Solid-State Physics Calculations: Exploring the World of DFT Software

I'm (by now) a fairly old guy; having a 1976 Aero-Astro PhD from MIT.

I spent many years doing applied work at LLNL, but am now interested in doing solid-state physics calculations.

So, I'll probably be posting a bunch of DFT software questions.

Did you ever see the MFTFB fusion experiment construction at LLNL? It was a shame that Reagan mothballed it after it was done, IMO. Did you know Chip Smith?
