What are Functional Electrodes Used for in Novel Biosensing Applications?

Hello together,

my name is Matthias and I am new to the PF :)
I am currently a PhD student in Applied Physics, and am working on functional electrodes (metallic and semiconducting) for novel biosensing applications. I just stumbled across PF, and thought it would be a great opportunity to share science related experiences and questions. I look forward to interacting with you guys!
