What Causes Time Dilation Between Two Objects?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

Time dilation is a phenomenon predicted by Einstein's theory of relativity, where time passes at different rates for observers in different gravitational fields or relative velocities. The twin paradox illustrates this effect, where one twin traveling at high speed ages slower than the twin remaining stationary. Additionally, experiments such as the Muon tests confirm time dilation by measuring the decay rates of muons created by cosmic rays, which travel at relativistic speeds. The underlying cause of time dilation is the interplay between velocity and gravitational fields as described by general and special relativity.

I have been curious about the concept of time dilation.

what is it exactly? and I am not talking about how it occurs, but the force that exist that makes it change or alter the similar state between two objects in two different places.

example would be the twin paradox or the Muon tests.

what is actually causing the difference?
