I thought Transhumanism was already a household name among scientists. Well, transhumanism is basically the ultimate scientific/technological/philosophical movement that incorporates every field of science, technology, and philosophy. The goal is basically futuristic advancement: time travel, artificial intelligence, brain/body augmentation, understanding the universe, nanotechnology, genetic engineering, cloning, mind uploading, cryonics, cyborg technology, interstellar travel, space colonization, etc. Here is the World Transhumanist Association website: http://www.transhumanism.org/ They have an FAQ: http://www.transhumanism.org/resources/faq.html
