SUMMARY

The discussion centers on constructing a car that can travel 5 meters while simultaneously shooting a target sideways. A suggested approach involves utilizing an Aston Martin equipped with an AK47, controlled by computer-operated servos and a drive-by-wire system for navigation. Additionally, a GPS locator is recommended for timing the trigger pull, with alignment achieved through a laser guidance system. This combination of technologies ensures precision in both movement and targeting.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of drive-by-wire systems
  • Familiarity with computer-controlled servos
  • Knowledge of GPS technology for timing
  • Experience with laser guidance systems
NEXT STEPS
  • Research drive-by-wire technology and its applications in automotive engineering
  • Explore the integration of computer-controlled servos in robotics
  • Learn about GPS timing mechanisms and their use in precision targeting
  • Investigate laser guidance systems and their implementation in targeting solutions
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for automotive engineers, robotics enthusiasts, and anyone interested in precision targeting systems in vehicle design.

i need to build a car not necessarily with a mousetrap that will travel 5 meters shoot a target sideways and the continue... it does not necessarily have to stop either... any ideas?

Going on the brief you've given us, you could buy an Aston Martin and an AK47, and using computer controlled servos and a drive by wire system to move the car controls to drive the car forwards, and using a GPS locator to time the pulling of the AK47 trigger, after having aligned it towards the target using a laser guidance system...

Come on, this is homework. At least share your ideas before you ask for help!
