Hi! I am an electrical engineering undergraduate going into my 3rd yr of my university education. Currently thinking of whether to specialise or not. Any suggestions on why I should or shouldn't? Thanks!
Well are you interested in the choices you have for specialisation? Are you concerned about employment prospects? Are you planning on continuing your studies after you get your degree?

employment prospects will be my primarily concern after graduation
Well if you want employment in a specialist field, then you might want to consider a more specialised education.... otherwise keeping your education general will keep your employment opportunities open, and there's always room to specialise.

I too would recommend the general approach. I did that in civil and am glad I did. You will get your specialised education once you start working. You will have a wider subject background which gives you more options in employment.
