Mmmmm.... pizza would be perfect right about now. Better than the can of tuna I just ate while standing over the sink... :uhh:

 I hear ya -- a couple of weeks ago I had a can of peas for lunch.
I ate a can of mechanically separated chicken weiners Friday at work. My boss walked in on me and said "wow, I haven't eaten those in years!".
MIH, does the pizza have olives? I love olives.

Evo, it does have olives - black ones - is that OK? I might have some green ones in the cabinet if you want those.

At the rate this is going, I'd better bring my own pizza to this party.

If you're bringing the NY pizza, I'm in! I love NY pizza, but do I date a NYer, no, I date a Chicagoan who thinks stew in a crust is pizza.  I'll bring the antipasta.

Our monthly work lunch this month is pizza, and they decided to have it outside, the forecast is 92 F and rain.

I almost ordered something called a Mexican pizza, but I decided against it because I wasn't sure if I would like it. They make it with bean paste and chorizo.
NY pizza is the way to go. I can get good pizza across the street or walk a few blocks and get great pizza. But it's all coming to an end next week... I'm moving to the wilds of NJ.
I'd better bring two pizzas to the party... one for me, the other to toss to you wolves. (Any kind you want, Evo.)

At least they didn't decide on the famous potato-cheese soup! That's quite a visual: Evo and coworkers sitting out in the rain, eating never ending bowls of soup.

Lots of meat, lots of cheese, olives and mushrooms. And none of that cracker crust stuff :yuck: I want a real pizza dough.

I like mushrooms, peppers, onions and pepperoni on mine. Or any combination of those that others agree to. No olives on mine, thanks. I love olives, but not on pizza.

I hate that real thin cracker crust crap. I can eat two of those while I'm waiting for the real pizza to come out of the oven.
I also hate "bagels" that are just bread in the shape of a donut. What's up with that?

But it's all coming to an end next week... I'm moving to the wilds of NJ.
Good luck with the move! Don't worry, there's still halfway decent pizza in NJ...still much better than what you get out here at the State University of NJ, West Virginia Campus. (I swear, by the number of NJ plates on the roads here, there's more students from NJ than WV arriving this week...you'd think someone would realize this brings in a demand for good NY style pizza and a proper Jewish deli, neither of which we have around here).

I hate that real thin cracker crust crap. I can eat two of those while I'm waiting for the real pizza to come out of the oven. When I was in Palermo, Italy, I swear the restaurant made me a special crust made with cement because I was American. It could not be cut. My date, who was native Sicilian had never seen anything like it. Using brute force he was finally able to smash it into bits, with pieces flying everywhere. He had to share his with me.
I also hate "bagels" that are just bread in the shape of a donut. What's up with that? :uhh: I like Sara Lee bagels. :blushing:

Thanks. The hard part is packing up my thousands of books. And they'll stay in boxes for months until the basement gets rebuilt into my library.
But, once the car situation is settled, I'll be an easy 15 minute drive from my office. So I should have an extra 2+ hours in the day. I can go looking for pizza! (Or just drive back to the city for it.)

I love NY style as well. Here in PA, its the most common. But I have to say, once in a while, Chicago style really hits the spot! I don't have a big problem with it. In fact, there are days I consider making the 12 hour trip to Chicago just for some Giordano's!(I'm not really a fan of Pizzeria Uno.)
I like NY style, I like Chicago.... Then again, I'd eat most things that are edible. I'm probably just a glutton!

Home alone all the time. Rarely has pizza at his house.
You know, the two might be related to each other. Who wants to go to a party with no pizza?
Wasn't there a song about that?
Say, can I have some of your purple berries?
Yes, I've been eating them for nearly three weeks now,

I think I'll crash somewhere else, dude.
Oh, man! We're out of my home-made, simmered-for-hours pizza sauce! I've got to make some, but first I've got to turn that bag of habaneros and some Russian garlic into hot sauce, because that habanero sauce is the critical ingredient in pizza sauce.:tongue2:

I cannot understand how those horrid chains managed to take over pizza! They sell absolutely awful pizza (Uno's literally makes me ill if I eat it...and I'm not even sure it should be called pizza) and charge more for it than a traditional pizza parlor. I really can't figure out how that worked. If it was cheaper, I could see them winning over the people with no taste buds on a budget (like all the other chains that have displaced good restaurants), or if it was tasty, I could see people being willing to pay more, but it's neither.

There once was a young woman named Lisa,
Who fell ill while eating a pizza,
Though the dish was not to blame,
She was conditioned just the same,
Now pepperoni makes her quite ill-at-ease-a.

Congratulations! That should be a significant quality of life improvement. For me, the memories of sitting in traffic for hours every day is nothing but a bad dream now.
As for pizza, I like everything but anchovies with a thin, crap, cracker crust please.
As for pizza, I like everything but anchovies with a thin, crap, cracker crust please. :biggrin:Sounds good! I make my pizzas on flour tortillas and cook them on a perforated aluminum pizza pan, so they get crispy. I used to throw my own pizza crusts, but one day I got lazy and decided to try using tortillas. They are so good, I never went back to fresh-dough crusts.

Oh, missed that. Yeah, hold the crap AND the anchovies. Pretty much anything else in the fridge is fair game, though. One of my favorite topping combinations is sauerkraut and hot sausage with minced garlic and onions.

True dat! I don't think I've ever had a bad meal there. Although, their pizzas far outshine their pasta offerings.
MIH, we have avocado in the house so infrequently that it would never end up on a pizza, though I have been known to top pizzas with crushed pinapple, onions and ham. Generally, we have fresh green peppers and onions for toppings with hot sausage or hamburg, though if there's cooked bacon or BBQ'd pork spare ribs in the fridge, they just might sneak into the mix. If you haven't tried sauerkraut, onion, and hot sausage, you should give it a shot. Lots of minced garlic is OK with that mix, too, if you don't have any imminent social engagements. My wife likes LOTS of garlic.

Can you grow an avocado tree where you are? My neighbor has a huge avocado tree and a bunch of the fruits are hanging over the fence on my side. I grab one every once in a while. The only problem is that they never taste as good as supermarket avvies. They tend to be smaller and harder.
I don't think avocados they would grow up here. Our primary crops are icicles, lumbago, and chilblains. Occasionally, we see some avocations developing during the long winters, but the fruits of those labors often end up on the landfill or in "garage" sales. (They always forget the "b"!)
BTW, there is no conceivable recipe, in which avocado might be combined with moose tenderloin, smoked Atlantic salmon, fiddleheads, venison, or sauteed brook trout, so there's really no need for that particular alligator variant up here anyway. Oh, sure, there's the odd party-attendee that thinks everybody ought to swoon over her whack-a-mole dip, but they usually succumb to the coffee-brandy/milk drinks early in the party and wake up back home with lots of green paste in a bowl.
Tip: The old Evinrude LightTwin 3's are killer outboards that will idle/troll all day without fouling a plug, and they are easy to handle and lug to a pond. Easy on fuel, and easy to rebuild. (Make a Maine bride out of you yet, MIH!)

I believe that is described in Domino's Law. There is a relationship between the thin-ness of a semi-triangular pizza crust and the amount of crap it will hold without sagging when leveled between thumb and forefingers.
