SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the concept of matter potentially popping in and out of existence at extremely rapid intervals, specifically questioning whether this phenomenon occurs at the scale of a trillionth of a nanosecond. Participants concluded that matter does not exhibit this behavior, contrasting it with the behavior of an AC sine wave that alternates through a zero point of potential. The consensus is that while waveforms may pass through zero, matter remains consistently present and does not vanish.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of quantum mechanics principles
  • Familiarity with wave-particle duality
  • Knowledge of AC sine wave characteristics
  • Basic concepts of potential energy in physics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research quantum mechanics and the nature of matter
  • Explore wave-particle duality in depth
  • Study the properties and applications of AC sine waves
  • Investigate potential energy and its role in physical systems
USEFUL FOR

Physicists, students of quantum mechanics, and anyone interested in the fundamental nature of matter and wave behavior in physics.

Does all 'matter' pop in and out of existence at a very rapid rate?
That is, am I "here" in, say, a trillionth nanosecond, and then "not here", then back again?

Where did you get such an idea? I would think the answer is clearly "NO".

Great, thanks for answering the question.
The reason I had the idea was with respect to how a AC sine wave passes through a "zero" point of potential as it alternates, but you've shown me that this does not happen with matter.

Thanks.
