Good question. If the battery is made from electrochemical cells, it's DC. And I've never heard of an AC source referred to as a "battery". If they meant AC, it is a really weird way to word the question.

It was a bit of a trick question from my teacher....luckily I got it right.......the answer is zero volts since a battery would be considered a DC source....therefore no output voltage
