I'm fascinated with the bit on group theory/abstract algebra that I've learned so far, but I'm hard-pressed to find a good textbook on the subject. All of the textbooks I've looked at are terribly dry and seem to assume that you already know what they're teaching you.

Recommendations?

For my abstract algebra course, we used An Introduction to Algebraic Structures by Landin, which I thought was a very nice book. It's not too difficult either, so it would work well for a self study.
