Dark Energy for QCD

Have you seen this paper, Federico Urban and Ariel Zhitnitsky, "The QCD Nature of Dark Energy", ArXiv:0909.2684 (http://lanl.arxiv.org/abs/0909.2684), They claim can generate approximately the right ammount of dark energy in the universe, just from the effect of the normal Hubble expansion upon the QCD vacuum. Could this be the solution of dark energy? I done a semi-summary of the dark on my blog, Axitronics@blogspot (http://axitronics.blogspot.com/) but much admit the QCD calcutions are beyond my ability to check.

Without reading much into it, let me first state that these sorts of ideas pop up all over the place. They're nearly always wrong. So, without looking into it in detail, my first impression is that it's unlikely.

That said, this model for dark energy does appear to produce some very specific predictions of both the magnitude and time dependence of dark energy. Therefore it should be imminently testable, if not now, then in the next few years.
