View Full Version : graphing linear functions
How exactly do you do this, graphing linear functions?
f(x) = x + 3?
Can someone explain how to do it.
Pick two values of x and use f(x) to find the corresponding values of y. Then plot each pair of (x, y) values on your graph paper and draw a line through those two points.
Often plotting f(x) = 0 and x = 0 are the easiest (assuming they are not the same point). Furthermore when drawing it out a 3rd point helps as a check.
