A jetliner is moving at a speed of 390 m/s. The vertical component of the plane's velocity is 37.4 m/s. Determine the magnitude of the horizontal component of the plane's velocity.

What equation would I use to solve this problem?

Am I on the right track......

Take square root of 390^2 + 37.4^2= 392 m/s

That looks like Pythagoras to me!
