Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone could explain what "fuel areal density" means, I'm reading up on fusion and this keeps popping up.

I know that the units for it are mass over area (g/cm^2) but confused to how this is related to density.

Sometimes the word "density" is used to mean an amount per length or per area instead of the usual per volume

I haven't actually come across "areal density" before, but it seems to be just mass per area. :wink:
