Answer the following questions as quickly as possible...Please don't look them up in books or dictionaries, just post the answers right after you read this post...

1. A high power FM station of frequency 59.9MHz has an anttena height of 500 km, if the signal is to be received 20.5 miles from the station, how high dies a prospective listener need to mount his antenna in this fringe area ?

2. Let's call d Hamming distance between the two code words, that is the number of positions by which they differ, for example 1111011 and 1110010 will have d=2. There fore, if d=0, how do you call this kind of distance ?

3. What do you call the "thing" stays between the transmitter and the receiver ?

4. A Four letter word represents color, message and all women and men love it ?

5. Name an animal that can fly without wings ?

6. Who made these questions ?

Rajesh, your #3 is correct, but the others are not.
Galileo, squirrels can't fly, they can jump only.
Anyone can answer the first one ?
 
1. I think 60 MHz may be a little high for Ionospheric Reflection, but I'll go with that anyway. So, if you can have reflection, you don't need any height at all.

If the frequency is too high for reflection (which I suspect it may be), then I'll have to go get a paper and pencil.

Okay, it doesn't really fly, it glides. But it can go pretty far.

20.5 miles is line of sight for this antenna unless you are buried.
So -> Above ground.
Also 59.9 Mhz is not FM its TV channel 2.
And a dead prospective listener isn't going to be mounting an antenna anywhere. :biggrin:
Last but not least that antenna is about 300 miles high.
But, you don't specify that it is a 1/4 wave dipole or anything so I say it's the full lenght. :smile:

Thank you guys, the first probblem is actually my homework, the left four questions are what I made myself, I don't know the answers to all of them either. I think all of you are correct. Nice shots anyway.

By the way, yesterday I asked my friend about the first problem, and he helped me solve already. Thanks my Goddess I found him !

Generally it is. But, not always.

500m is still line of sight. IIRC curvature is only 4 inches per mile.
