Yes, it has so many volcanoes. But the vaerage temperature is 130K, similar to the temperature on many other moons. As long as we avoid the lava, could we possibly even set foot on it? (Of course, it's dangerous so I'm setting this as an hypothetical scenario).

You could certainly land a robot rover there. The thing that would limit humans would be radiation wouldn't it? I've read that Io is constantly bathed in lethal radiation from Jupiter.

You could walk on Io...just watch out for the hot spots and the undulating surface beneath your feet. But like selfAdjoint said, the radiation in that region around Jupiter is more than enough to kill a person. Invest in lead-lined clothes. :)
