Is there any other formally considered theories relating to the operations of gravity other than relativity? They must still be considered in modern physics.
If so could one point me in the direction.

There are various theories that have been falsified by experiment, e.g., Whitehead's theory. The list gets a lot shorter when you look for theories that are still empirically viable. Some possible leads:
