Another reason not to join Facebook

I've never gotten around to joining Facebook, and lately I've become happier and happier about that, e.g.:

I'm encouraging most of my friends to move over to Google+. Once enough are there, I'll probably stop using facebook entirely.

Here is an idea, post on your wall that you are downsizing. Tell all of your supposed "friends" that if they want to contact you to have them PM or IM you with their real e-mails. Your real friends will, as for the rest, who cares !? :blushing: :devil:

Facebook also never deletes any of your information or pictures when you deactivate your account. You have to go out of your way to tell them that you want to delete your account, and then you have to not access it for a couple of weeks before its actually gone.

i really like fb i like keeping in touch with my friends childhood friends and catching up on so much, and staying in touch with family, i dont like the new fb changes.........

"None of your friends on their own has enough information to access your account, as they are only sent a single code. But, of course, if your 'trusted' friends turned out to be untrustworthy and banded together they would - between them - be able to access your account.

Cluley also noted that anyone who compromises an account will likely change the "trusted friends" group almost immediately, rendering the whole security measure "kind of pointless."

In addition to :yuck:, Facebook also introduced App Passwords, which allows users to log into third-party apps with a unique password that differs from a primary Facebook login.

Cluley endorsed the new feature, noting that it was definitely a good idea not to use your Facebook login on other sites or apps.

If anyone here is sure their personal information has been compromised, and what they did to rectify the situation, please DISCUSS !!! (channeling Pengy once again...)
