I have a question i know it has something to do with refraction but uh... why do we need to wear goggles underwater to see straight>??
Wearing goggles underwater is essential for clear vision due to the principles of refraction. Water and corneal tissue have similar indices of refraction, which results in light not being focused correctly by the time it reaches the retina. This lack of focus causes distortion in vision, making it difficult to see straight without corrective lenses like goggles. Goggles create an air pocket in front of the eyes, allowing light to refract properly, enhancing visual clarity underwater.
