I ran across this internet news article today, it seemed interesting, but the article is not too informative. Does anyone here think that a black hole was really created, or is this the media 'hyping up' some other type of scientific achievement?

The article is here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4357613.stm.

Edit: Sorry, there seems to alreay be a thread on this in the 'Scepticism and debunking' fourm. It is here: https://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=67745.
