i have a question when you take the interal of 1/(1+x^2) is that still arctan(x) because i know it is arctan(x) if it is 1/(x^2 +1) thanks
The discussion revolves around the integral of the function 1/(1+x^2) and its relationship to the arctangent function. Participants are exploring the correctness of this relationship within the context of integral calculus.
The conversation is ongoing, with some participants providing affirmations while the original poster expresses a desire for clarity. There is no explicit consensus, but the discussion is focused on confirming the relationship between the integral and the arctangent function.
There appears to be a misunderstanding in the original post regarding the notation, which has been acknowledged by the poster. This may influence the clarity of the discussion.
