Would you tell me what it is (cd4+ T-cell populations)?
CD4+ T-cell populations are characterized by the expression of the CD4 receptor on their surface, which interacts with MHCII molecules to recognize extracellular peptides. This interaction, along with the T-cell receptor (TCR), enables CD4+ T-cells to relay signals that stimulate immune responses. In contrast, CD8+ T-cells recognize MHCI molecules, which present intracellular peptides, such as those from viral infections. Immature thymocytes initially express both CD4 and CD8, but differentiate into either CD4+ or CD8+ T-cells upon exiting the thymus.
