Should Scientists Bet on the Impossibility of Perpetual Motion?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the concept of perpetual motion and the challenge to the scientific community's stance that it is impossible. A participant proposes that scientists should back their beliefs with a substantial wager, suggesting that if they are confident in their position, they should be willing to risk money or assets. The individual also mentions working on a theoretical model that could potentially achieve perpetual motion, emphasizing a commitment to share any successful design freely with the public.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of the laws of thermodynamics
  • Familiarity with the concept of equilibrium in physics
  • Basic knowledge of theoretical physics and engineering principles
  • Awareness of historical attempts at perpetual motion machines
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the laws of thermodynamics and their implications for perpetual motion
  • Explore historical designs of perpetual motion machines and their failures
  • Investigate modern theoretical physics concepts related to energy conservation
  • Learn about crowdfunding and public engagement strategies for scientific ideas
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for physicists, engineers, inventors, and anyone interested in the theoretical exploration of energy systems and the challenges of achieving perpetual motion.

Although the scientific community vehemently proclaim that perpetual motion cannot be a possibility, I feel that they should put their money where their mouth is, and backup their beliefs with a wager, a sizable one, since their so confident of never being forced to pay.
Presently I'm working on an idea that I believe might work, although still only on the drawing board, I'm somewhat confident that I might be able to crack this holy grail,
but even if it doesn't accomplish in cheating the force of equilibrium, I will continue to try to tweak my theory, if I do accomplish a workable model, I would be letting the world use it duty free, and I would like to see that there is something to work towards rather than just a philanthropic endeavor.
Also, if your not rich enough to bet a million or so, I would also accept land, vehicles, stocks and bonds etc...LOL
Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world. Archimedes

ANY TAKERS?

This is not a gambling site. When you have something that works let us know

Ok, and if your thing DOESN'T work, what are you willing to bet ?

:-p
