kinetics. all of it.

forces (from basic laws stuff, acceleration due to gravity, and the normal force when the birdie hits the ground)
angular velocity
acceleration
centripetal acceleration
fluid dynamics


Not to mention all the trig and calculus that you need to know in to be able to do all that....

Also the elasticity and other mechanical properties of the racquets, along with biophysical aspects of the players.
