Extremely Short Take Off & Landing
...at least, I assume that's what ESTOL stands for.

So, a plane comes in for a landing, screeching to a stop. The copilot turns to the pilot and says, "Wow Captain, that sure was a short runway!" And the pilot says, "Yeah, but look how wide it is!"
