Reading material re space/time

In summary, the conversation is about finding books with recent information on current thinking about space/time, specifically the origin and structure of the cosmos. The person asking the question is interested in books that explore and introduce ideas about the emergence of space/time. The other person suggests a book that has been delayed due to the changing field, but recommends looking at the contributors for more information. They also suggest several authors who have interesting and conflicting ideas about the origins of space/time.

I think it owuld be helpful if you were more specifc as to what you wanted, the origin and strucutre of the cosmos is the realm of comsology, so are you looking for an introductory text on cosmology , if so what level? a layman paperback, a introductory textbook or adavance textbook?

This book has promised for years but as the field keeps changing the release date is forever pushed back, right now they are saying Feb next year but wouldn't bet on it:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/3540714227/?tag=pfamazon01-20

but what you might do in the mean time is look at the contributors and read their stuff

Try these authors:
MArtin Bojowald, Alan Guth, Sean Caroll, Lee Smolin, Neil Turok, Alex Vilenkin, Loenard Susskind, Richard Gott, Roger Penrose.
they all have some interesting and often conflicting ideas about these origins questions.

1. What is space/time?

Space/time is a concept that describes the relationship between space and time. It is often referred to as the fabric of the universe and is the basis for understanding the movement and interactions of objects in the universe.

2. How does space/time affect our daily lives?

Space/time affects our daily lives in many ways, from the rising and setting of the sun to the changing of the seasons. It also plays a crucial role in our understanding of gravity and the movement of objects on Earth.

3. Can space/time be manipulated?

There are theories that suggest space/time can be manipulated, such as through the use of advanced technology or by powerful forces in the universe. However, this is still a topic of ongoing research and debate among scientists.

4. How is space/time measured?

Space/time is measured in units such as meters for distance and seconds for time. However, due to the complexity of space/time, scientists often use specialized tools and equations to accurately measure and understand this concept.

5. What impact does space/time have on the universe?

Space/time has a profound impact on the universe as it governs the movement and interactions of all objects. It allows us to understand the formation and evolution of galaxies, stars, planets, and other celestial bodies. Without space/time, the universe as we know it would not exist.
