Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the significance of CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) size in digital imaging, specifically comparing different sizes such as 1/2" and 2/3". Participants seek to understand the implications of these specifications in various applications and the technical details associated with them.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about the difference between CCD sizes and their applications, seeking technical details.
  • Another participant notes that the sizes refer to physical dimensions.
  • A follow-up question asks for clarification on how these physical dimensions affect real-world applications.
  • Another participant suggests that larger sizes allow for more pixels, implying a potential increase in cost.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants have not reached a consensus, and multiple viewpoints regarding the implications of CCD size remain. The discussion is still open, with questions about practical effects and applications yet to be fully addressed.

Contextual Notes

The discussion lacks detailed technical specifications and does not resolve how the differences in size translate to performance in specific applications.

Hello everybody,

I want to know the difference between CCD size like 1/2" and 2/3".
I want information abt the various areas for which the above specifications are used.
What exactly it means?
Please if anybody can provide me with technical details i am thankful.
thanks in advance.

regards,
Info.

More details for CCD

Hello,
Thank you for the reply. Of course it is a physical dimension, but exactly is the purpose of these diffrences in physical dimensions ? I mean to say that what effect does these dim. have in real application ?

Thanks in advance.

if the size is bigger you have more pixels on it (and pay more for it of course...)
