Re: Special and General Relativity papers

Click For Summary
Finding older academic papers online, especially those by deceased authors like Einstein, can be challenging due to copyright issues. Users are seeking links to Einstein's key works, particularly his papers on special and general relativity, which should be freely accessible. Several resources were shared, including links to HTML and PDF formats of his works. Users expressed frustration with the difficulty of accessing these documents, noting issues with PDF files appearing blank but finding success with online versions. Additionally, there was a mention of the need for English translations, as some resources were in German. Overall, the discussion highlights the ongoing struggle to access historical academic literature in a user-friendly format.

The internet is an absolute nightmare for finding papers, particularly ones that are so old the author has died and the copyright has expired.

Anyone got a link to Einsteins 3 papers

And also his paper on special and general relativity. Apparently I can buy it for $x, but since it should be free and my search engine can't find a free source I'm asking here?

That's fantastic thanks guys.

Is not even the free, free any more  :-p

Oddly though the pdf format is blank for me? I can read it on line but would rather print it out or save it.

And I don't speak German I'm afraid, is there an English translation on that site Robphy?

Oh never mind I downloaded the Microsoft ebook reader this works fine. Strange about the pdf?

Both PDF files work, the one from MIT only takes some time to load. However, it is just the ones online that has all of the original(?) images.

Hello everyone :) I’m currently a third-year undergraduate student in Electrical Engineering at a college (not a highly ranked one). Since my first year, I’ve known that I want to continue to a master’s degree—only at a university—and my long-term goal is to work in research and development in the space industry. My first preference is pursuing an M.Sc. in Physics. I truly enjoy physics, constantly try to expand my knowledge, and the main reason I even chose Electrical Engineering was...
