Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Assumption checking

Approaches and Questions Raised

  • Participants are attempting to clarify the specific objectives of the problem and the necessary steps to analyze the resistor network. There is a mention of previous success with similar problems, but uncertainty remains regarding the current calculations.

Discussion Status

Some participants are seeking clarification on the problem's requirements, while others express confusion about their calculations. There is an indication of productive engagement, as participants are sharing resources and seeking specific guidance.

Contextual Notes

Participants are referencing external documents and spreadsheets for their calculations, indicating a reliance on additional materials to support their problem-solving efforts. There is an acknowledgment of a known answer that is not being reached, suggesting potential gaps in understanding or application of the concepts.

I'm going to move this to homework help, TJ

TJ,
I have looked at your problem, but I am not sure what you need.
What is the objective here? Can you specify a little more? What are you supposed to do with the resistor network to the right?

Wheatstone

I have been able to work one problem with the wheatstone formulas but for some reason I am missing something on working another one. I know what the answer is suppose to be but for some reason I can't seem to get there. Please see the spreadsheet where I have been doing my calculations http://quasarsvc.bizland.com/WheatstoneCircuit.xls the one I am having problems with is the one on the tab Q40 - the other problem worked out correctly. I am close but not there.

Thanks
