Thanx...
Lemme refine my question....which universities(gud ones) offer scholarships on SAT scores(I&II) and how much??
Jun12-07, 11:55 AM   #6

I can only answer for the US schools... but I don't think *any* "gud" university offers scholarships based on SAT scores. SAT scores are a very small part of the total picture and are really not that important compared to grades and extracurricular activites.

Worse for you, while the US schools *do* offer many undergraduate scholarships, there are relatively few available to non-US citizens. (I assume from your original message that you are from India.)

If you want to study in the US, consider graduate school instead. There are many more funding opportunities for foreign students there.

Astronuc, the list for Canada - is there any particular order to it or is it just random?
Jun12-07, 03:34 PM   #8

I'm going to have to add Wasada for Japan.

Astronuc, where did you pull that list from?

ranger, as far as I know there is now particular order other than when they were put on the list.

The source of the list is - http://www.graduateshotline.com/tope.html
as well as a couple I added. The national lists are not considered complete, nor I have I verified them.

Other lists are available for a price.

By graduate you mean masters, right??

I was actually thinking about the relatively high amount of funding available for Ph.D. students. It is fairly common (although certainly not universal) for schools to give all of their science/engineering Ph.D. students tuition and a stipend, regardless of nationality. (Unsurprisingly, better schools have more money and you have a much better chance of a free ride there.)

I'm not really familiar with M.S. funding levels... but I'd guess that even there, there is more funding than for foreign undergraduates.

There seem to be a lot of Indians over here at Iowa State University (which is known for engineering), so maybe you'd feel at home here?

Strangely though, almost none of them are in the physics department. I could swear that I'm the only Indian graduate student in the whole place, and I'm not sure I even count, since I'm American born.

Go to the college's web site. All colleges and universities in the US have online application forms, as far as I know.
