Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around an experiment titled the "Monkey Chow Diet," where a participant shares their experience of living on a diet consisting solely of Monkey Chow for a period of time. The scope includes personal observations, potential implications for nutrition, and psychological aspects of dietary restriction.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Conceptual clarification
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • The participant, eNtRopY, outlines three goals for the experiment: testing the viability of living on Monkey Chow, exploring its potential as a mass-processed food source, and examining personal endurance through dietary restriction.
  • Some participants express curiosity about what Monkey Chow is, with one asking if it is made from rejected zoo monkeys blended into a supplement.
  • Another participant references an inside joke related to Australian culture, questioning if Monkey Chow is related to a specific ingredient in local supplements.
  • Throughout the experiment, eNtRopY shares feelings of craving other foods, indicating a struggle with the diet.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally express curiosity and humor about the experiment, but there is no consensus on the nature or implications of the Monkey Chow diet itself. The discussion remains largely exploratory and informal.

Contextual Notes

The discussion lacks detailed definitions of Monkey Chow and does not provide scientific backing for the nutritional claims associated with it. There are also no established outcomes regarding the diet's effectiveness or health implications.

Who May Find This Useful

Individuals interested in unconventional dietary experiments, nutrition, or the psychological aspects of food consumption may find this discussion engaging.

The New World Monkey Chow Diet -- an Experiment in Human Nutrition

Day 1:

It's been 24 hours now since I started the Monkey Chow diet. I observe no noticeable changes in my physical appearance or my emotional behavior.

I hope to accomplish three goals through this experiment.

1) Find out if man can indeed live on Monkey Chow alone.
2) Test the possibility of feeding the masses a nutritious, mass-processed, non-perishible food-stuff.
3) Test my endurance to release the ego by denying myself the frivolous pleasure of eating for an extended period of time.

Entropy, sounds interesting. But, what in the world is this Monkey Chow you speak of?

Is it all the monkeys which the Zoo's reject, chucked in a big blender, then distributed to the homeless as a nutritional suppliment?

Do you reckon that this is the ingredient that Pan was chucking into its supplements?

(Note: An in joke for all Australians).
