Please Debunk!: Dark Suckers

A friend said he saw something on CNN about a recent discovery at bell labs. That a light source, instead of propagating radiant energy actually sucks up darkness. I had to laugh, so here I am asking the pros. Personally, I say nonsense.

The onus is not on you or us to debunk- it's on your friend to come up with a reliable source or evidence for his claims.

However, people here can and will confirm that the story is inconsistent with what we know about light.

Your friend is having some fun with you.

The "Dark Sucker" joke has been around for years (I first heard it over a decade ago).
