I actually thought they were pretty. Really. I figured, eh, if they don't work, they'll be pretty in the pot with the dead plant. ![]() (I've never had luck with similar attempts at homemade contraptions, such as inverted soda bottles...they usually just emptied as the water drained out of the bottom of the pot onto the floor.) |

Aqua Globes
I bought one several years ago because I LOVE colored glass. Its decoration only! They don't work for crap. Once I even tried absolutely soaking the pot then sticking that thing in, and it drained all the water in a short time.

I'd only see this working if you stuck it in completely inverted, not at an angle, and in some fancy way so as to not break the surface tension of the water with the soil.
So yeah, if you know magic, it might work. |
