SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the relationship between the Doppler effect, redshifted photons, and time dilation. Participants assert that redshift occurs when photons transfer energy to dark energy, which does not alter their momentum, thus preventing blurring of cosmic objects. The consensus highlights that while the Doppler effect provides a straightforward explanation for redshift, time dilation remains a significant factor over vast distances. Additionally, the conversation touches on Planck's quanta theory, emphasizing that photons are emitted and absorbed in their entirety.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of the Doppler effect in astrophysics
  • Familiarity with redshift phenomena
  • Knowledge of time dilation principles in relativity
  • Basic comprehension of Planck's quanta theory
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the implications of dark energy on photon behavior
  • Explore advanced concepts in cosmological redshift
  • Study the mathematical framework of time dilation in general relativity
  • Investigate the relationship between momentum and energy transfer in quantum mechanics
USEFUL FOR

Astronomers, physicists, and students of astrophysics interested in the effects of cosmic phenomena on light and time, as well as those exploring the implications of dark energy in the universe.

If photons get redshifted on their way to the Earth by transferring
energy to the dark energy of the cosmos their momenta would not be
changed and cause blurring of objects because dark energy may not have momentum itself and so classical behaviour that would cause blurring would not necessarily occur.
Redshifted photons would still exhibit time dilation over large
distances.
Any thoughts on this?

To procede in funny   tone:Than the dark energy of the cosmos is nothing else than the gravitational energy of the same. :-p

photons can only be emitted and absorbed in their entirety [re: Plancks quanta theory]. the doppler effect is the simplest and most obvious explanation for red [or blue] shift.
