Choppy said:Something that I find that helps is to go through the paper as if you were asked to referee it. Critique it. Look for flaws in the physics or in the methodology. Look at the presentation. Could any of the information be made more clear? Has anyone done anything like this before? What is unique about this work?

Research papers are written reports that present the results of a study or investigation on a particular topic. They typically include an introduction, literature review, methodology, results, and discussion sections.
You can find research papers by searching online databases such as Google Scholar, JSTOR, or EBSCO. Your university library will also have access to many research papers, both online and in print.
To read and understand research papers, start by skimming the abstract and introduction to get an overview of the study. Then, read the methodology and results sections carefully to understand the study's methods and findings. Finally, read the discussion and conclusion to see how the results are interpreted and what implications they have.
To cite a research paper, you will need to follow a specific citation style, such as APA, MLA, or Chicago. This includes providing the author's name, title of the paper, publication date, and the name of the journal or publication it was published in. Your university may have a specific citation guide that you can follow.
Some common mistakes to avoid when writing research papers include not properly citing sources, not including a clear research question or thesis statement, and not following the guidelines or expectations set by your professor. It is important to carefully proofread and edit your paper to ensure accuracy and clarity.
