SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the relationship between gravity and pressure, asserting that gravity causes pressure rather than the reverse. It highlights the theoretical nature of dark energy, suggesting that as the universe expands, dark energy increases. The conversation posits that if dark energy derives energy from gravitational force carriers, then masses may gain additional force carriers by compressing dark energy. This implies a complex interplay between gravity and pressure in the context of cosmic expansion.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of gravitational force carriers
  • Familiarity with dark energy concepts
  • Basic knowledge of cosmic expansion
  • Awareness of pressure dynamics in physics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the properties of dark energy and its implications in cosmology
  • Study gravitational force carriers and their role in physics
  • Explore the effects of cosmic expansion on matter and energy
  • Investigate the relationship between pressure and gravitational forces in fluid dynamics
USEFUL FOR

Astronomers, physicists, and students of cosmology interested in the interactions between gravity, pressure, and dark energy.

Why does pressure cause gravity?
As the universe expands dark energy increases. If dark energy gets its energy from gravitational force carriers as space expands, then perhaps the reverse process can occur - masses can get more force carriers by squeezing dark energy/space.

Dark energy is only theoretical.

Ok, but dark energy is still theoretical.

If pressure were to cause more gravity, doesn't that tell you something about what gravity is and what it isn't?

Gravity causes pressure, not the other way around.

The force downwards causes air molecules to move downwards, pushing on things below them (which is pressure).
