are there any onlinestorage-ish website that I can use?

so i'm working at different places and I was wondering if there are any online storage I could use other to transfer my files from one place to another, and save my files online.
I remember, when I had geocities, it worked great since I could save any type of file I want, and I could type anything I want and use it like a notepad. So I would write down my "to do list" on geocites and look it up at different places as long as I have internet connection-even if I forget my usb flash drive.

I do not mean file upload sites, since the files aren't easily accessible. (and you don't know when it's going to get deleted)

are there any? maybe website is the best bet? I just signed up for angelfire, but it doesn't seem like good ol' geocites (geocities closed down, now one has to pay to get a yahoo domain)

How much space do you need? I most often use gmail. I just send myself the email with the attachment.

I personally don't like drop box.

I used to use Humyo, free accounts get 10GB of storage and paid get 100gb (£5 a month).

Online file manager and everything - best I've seen around and I spent months trying to find a half decent one to suit my needs.

You could work with files as if they're on your computer, if the server had the software you could open and edit files online, if not it would download it and when you hit save in the native program on your pc it would reupload it then and there. Damn clever software.

However, it was recently taken over so I'm not sure what they are offering new customers now. Worth a look though.

how much space do I need? 10mb ish is enough. although I would love extra space in GBs

greg: email would work too, my hotmail've been giving me script problem lately and it's pain using it atm
jaredn: 10GB for free account? O_o

they sound like what I need, I'll check it out right now and see if they work.

quick question though, does it take a while to first setup dropbox, humyo?

humyo no, just sign up and you have access to a user control panel (like a file browser on a pc), just click upload and away you go.

Problem with email is that there's a maximum size ~14mb.

Yes, 10gb for a free account.

Hold it, I just checked Humyo and only existing users get the original perks.

As I said it was taken over so now it's only free for 30 days and the you pay.

Sorry.

Dropbox set up takes about 5, 10 minutes. You start out with 2GB, but for every friend you get to sign up you get another 250mb. I think it goes up to 8GB for free. You can get a lot more than that, but you have to pay. It's cool because all your computers that you install it on can access the cloud as if the drive was on your computer. It actually downloads it to both so if you are offline you can use it or drop things in it, and once you get online again it will update everything automatically. I've enjoyed using it so far
