Medical examination question

I've been requested to "get a medical examination that includes a blood test to certify that you are physical capable of entering areas that may emit very small quantities of radiation."

What kind of test would this be? what would it include? and would they offer this at a local hospital?
I have never gotten a medical examination in this country and I don't wanna get ripped off!

Ask whoever your future employer is about where you can find one. They should be able to suggest somewhere.

I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming it is just a standard physical and bloodwork to make sure you don't have any existing ailments that could be aggrevated by radiation. Most likely just a catch all in case someone wants to sue them later on.

You could call around and ask several doctors offices on the price of similar examinations and compare them. I can't say for certain what the cost might be.

I would imagine hospitals would charge a lot more, then a local clinic or doctors office. You should also get in writing, what test they want you to have.
