Armoured cables

Hello guys , i have a question related to cable mechanical properties

you know power cables have armouring , which enhance the mechanical properties for the cable

the question is : what is the difference between the Tape armour and wire armour i know the difference in how they look like and the difference in construction but what i mean , when the tape armouring is preferred over wire armouring and vice verse
