Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around finding math problems for preparation for math finals, covering various topics including vectors, differential calculus, integral calculus, and vector fields. Participants share their perspectives on effective study methods and problem selection.

Discussion Character

  • Homework-related
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • Joe requests assistance in finding math problems to prepare for finals, listing specific topics of interest.
  • Some participants suggest reviewing textbook problems and class notes as a more effective study method.
  • Joe mentions the lack of a standard textbook, indicating that the available material is primarily theoretical and not helpful for tests.
  • Another participant advises Joe to prioritize and narrow down his list of topics to focus on his greatest needs.
  • A participant proposes a specific integration problem for discussion.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants express differing views on the best approach to studying for finals, with no consensus on a single effective method. Some advocate for textbook review, while others emphasize the need for practical problem-solving.

Contextual Notes

Joe's request highlights limitations in available study materials, specifically the theoretical nature of the textbook used, which may not align with the practical needs for exam preparation.

I am in the process of studying for my math finals, and I was wondering if anyone could help me find some math problems that I could work on to prepare.

Thanks!
Joe

Well if you go over the problems in your textbook and from your class notes instead of typing posts onto Internet boards you'll probably do well on your final. :-p

NeutronStar, The problem is that we don't have a normal textbook (if we did, I wouldn't have posted here). The book that we use(which cost only $10, so I'm not complaining) contains primarily theoretical problems that don't help much for tests (and I've spent a lot of time on those also).

Joe,

Your list is rather comprehensive and I don't think a shotgun approach will be very constructive or effective. Why don't you prioritize your needs and narrow the list down to a few items according to your greatest needs? Focus!

try this

find integration of (square root of sin x)and let me know the arrived answer
