Hey guys

My buddy has a Dell laptop. We are trying to format his hard drive and reinstall Windows. What is the best way to do this? I tried format c: in a dos box, but obviously it wouldn't let that go because Windows was still loaded on top.

What do you suggest?

Boot from the Windows XP CD and when it asks you about the parititions I think you press D to delete it, then create another pariton and format it ntfs quick. Its all pretty straight foward. Just follow the instructions the installer gives you.

If you don't know how to boot from the CD go into the bios and change the boot device order so that the CDROM is first.
