Is it not, just think of all the things that had to happen, or not, for you to be
alive today.

The first page of "A short history of nearly everything" elaborated on that quite a bit...

 :bugeye: I'd rather not think about what had to happen for me to be alive. That would mean thinking about...my parents...having...no, I just can't say it, I mean, it's my parents!

But if your parents didn't, or your grand parents didn't? think of all the trouble
you caused over the centuries. generations of nappy changes, burpings
sleepless nights.

Oh, grandparents can, just parents can't. My one set of grandparents were quite spunky, so it doesn't phase me at all to think of them...at least when they were younger...being "romantic," even if they always slept in separate beds (that might be the secret to a long and happy marriage...my grandmother said it never stopped them from meeting between the beds ). At least they slept in the same room. My other grandparents have gone years of sleeping on entirely different floors of the house! They're just the weird grandparents.

I interpret that to me both survival of the fittest and the capability to "replicate". Quite profound indeed

However, if I may offer a suggestion for improvement to Anttech:

"The knowldege of self-spread amongst the collective"

Wait a minute. I though we weren't suppose to say anything profound down here. That sort of thing is "looked down upon" . . . down here . . . is it?
