Hit the last nail in the coffin. One more exam and I am out of academia. End of a dream, or maybe I was just daydreaming?

Thanks. Though it would have been nice if I could pursue Masters; ending the academic life at graduation wasn't exactly what I wanted. But then, life doesn't always go the way we want it to, does it?

You can still get back in the fray. Continue self-studying and search for a master's program. I left academia with a BS and five years later, I returned, taking one course at a time to earn my MS.

Now, after 40 years, I got back into a PhD program after retirement. In the US, with a Masters, you can become an adjunct professor and teach part-time at least for computer science.

Lost my father yesterday. 10 March 2022. He has been fighting cancer since June 2021, but he lost the battle to pneumonia, and passed away of sceptic shock. Still can't believe that he is not with us.

Sorrow for your loss. It is a very particular emotion to lose one's father. So live well!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope he was comfortable, and I wish you and your family healing and peace. You seem like a bright, hard-working student, so I'm sure he was proud of you!

    Hi Wrichik,

Sorry to learn about your dad. We've found its good to write down your memories whenever they come to mind. It can help with grief over time.

Cancer stage 4 is a scary diagnosis. I'm going through that right now with a diagnosis of Stage 3C with high-risk prostate cancer on the cusp of spreading outside of the prostate. I'm going through treatment now via hormone and radiation treatment. Surgery is out because of its spread.

Take care of yourself and your family,
