Summer 2013 Math and Science REU Thread
I'm not applying for any REU's this summer since I'm graduating, but I've learned that Rutgers is starting an REU program this year, and only put their application online this week, with a due date of February 22nd. Might be good to check out for those who thought they were too late to start...- Alienjoey

Depression, doubt in my mathematical abilities
Stony Brook has a great physics department, especially with the C. N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics and Brookhaven National Lab nearby. The most important thing is getting experience with research, which you should have plenty of opportunities for at Stony Brook.- Alienjoey

What should I do to increase chances of getting a job?
There are a lot of companies who visit Rutgers looking for people to intern, especially for computer science and engineering fields (so undoubtedly for computer engineering as well). What's so great about A Space Odyssey ?
I read the book and loved it. In fact, I think I'll reread it sometime soon. But the movie wasn't amazing. It was certainly groundbreaking for its time, but it is very dull at times. I haven't read any of the sequels though.- Alienjoey

ME Undergrad research (Thermo/Robotics/Aerospace)
As long as you're interested in robotics, it can't hurt to try it. Getting involved in research in general is a good thing to do, regardless of the specific type of research, just so you know whether or not it is something you'll want to continue in the future. And if an opportunity involving...- Alienjoey

Computer Hardware Help: Fixing Issues with Keyboard
iTunes is a bit of a resource hog as it is, and it can slow down your computer a lot, but if the keyboard is clearly giving you problems, it can't hurt to get a new keyboard as well.- Alienjoey

Is a High-Cost Undergraduate Degree Worth the Debt for Aspiring Scientists?
If you have little or no income, you should be getting a good deal of financial aid...But it's still a going to be a lot of money that you have to pay, regardless.- Alienjoey

Graduate Google's most relevant names in Quantum Theory
Me + "quantum theory" - 802,000 results (23,700,000 for me + quantum) Which apparently makes me more than twice as relevant as Einstein. Works for me.- Alienjoey
