Calculators Need a more powerful calculator (beyond ti-89T, hp50g)
Hi, I am an engineering student that loves writing programs for my ti calculators. I am currently using a texas instruments voyage 200, I love the screen and the qwerty keyboard. But I KEEP running into limitations with these things. I am approaching the point where calculations are...- Bense

Question for ME Graduates (or upper level students)
The original date of this thread was 9/22/08. I'm not in statics anymore. I don't really think that it has anything to do with the disposition towards engineering. I like the material and I enjoy learning it. There's no subject I'd rather be learning, and there's nothing (constructive) I'd...- Bense

Question for ME Graduates (or upper level students)
Well I ended up making an A in statics and exempting the exam. I am now taking Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Differential Equations, and Physics II. Dynamics is frightening me. I am extremely scared of it. On my first test I made 60 pages of notes. I ended up making a 97 on the...- Bense

Question for ME Graduates (or upper level students)
I am just now taking my first real engineering course, being statics and it is kicking my butt. I have done all right on my first two tests (85s on each) but I feel like I am doing something wrong. It feels like every section I get through (10 pages or so) takes an extremely long time for me...- Bense

Question for Mechanical Engineering students
Well that's a good thing to hear, because with me taking courses over the summer, I pretty much am at the point where I can't take more than 14 hours because of the pre-reqs, and if I did add an extra course, I would be making the next semester 11 hours. I think that I just need a week vacation...- Bense

Question for Mechanical Engineering students
Hey guys, I am a freshman at a local community college, I am just about to finish up my summer semester of calculus2 and engineering graphics. I will more than likely receive an A in both of the courses. I've yet to take any physics course, or any real math-intensive engineering course, and...- Bense

Undergrad Is practicing every problem necessary for self-studying Calculus?
I am using the 8th edition of your book, in the three calculus courses that I'm taking (calc1,2,3) all of them use that book. What I do is I work a handful of problems, but more importantly I write myself excellent notes, so that when I need to look back at the topic again, I don't have to...- Bense

How long can you maintain your concentration span?
After battling diagnosed ADHD for about 12 years (save the ADD/ADHD jokes/debates please) I have found that the only way I can learn any complex material is to go to the "workshed" in my back yard. My workshed is insulated with power/ac/heat, but the 'office' portition is a small 8x10' area...- Bense
