Ivy League *expensive vs. good private or state school
@thomaslanny, yeah they give a lot of need based aid but what they're probably going to give us isn't really enough. We're in that income range where they don't want to give us a lot of aid but we can't afford to pay for four years of ivy education.- bguidry17

Ivy League *expensive vs. good private or state school
Hey everybody, I'm a high school senior about to apply to college and major in some science (anything from biochemistry to physics to math). Princeton University is my first choice, but it's going to be expensive for my family and me, especially considering I will most likely go to grad school...- bguidry17

Is Euclid prerequisite to Archimedes?
Wow... Great post and a great thread. Those guys were truly geniuses. I don't hear much about Apollonius of Perga. Is his book a valuable read? I recently read that part of the Elements concerning tangent lines, and it confused me for a little while until I figured out what he was really saying...- bguidry17

Is Euclid prerequisite to Archimedes?
Okay. And I assume that it is the same for Apollonius of Perga. By the way, thank you mathwonk for putting a lot of time and effort on this site. I am sure I'm not the first kid to say that your posts (especially your "who wants to be a mathematician" thread) are very helpful.- bguidry17

Is Euclid prerequisite to Archimedes?
Hi, I am a high school student interested in physics/math. I decided I wanted to read the Works of Archimedes (or at least start) before graduating. For some reason, it seemed that Euclid was prerequisite to Archimedes, and I wanted to read Euclid anyway, so I started Euclid and am about a third...- bguidry17

High School Is Tyche the Missing Planet in Our Solar System?
From what I've read since my last comment, that was probably bad journalism. Here's another good article: http://mblogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2011/02/14/no-there's-no-proof-of-a-giant-planet-in-the-outer-solar-system/- bguidry17

High School Is Tyche the Missing Planet in Our Solar System?
http://www.gearfuse.com/new-planet-believed-to-have-been-found-at-edge-of-solar-system/ This link says something to the extent that "it is inevitable that Tyche's existence will be proven." True or bad journalism?- bguidry17

Krotov's Aptitude Test Problems in Physics
I am trying to acquire Krotov's book and it says that the book will cost Rs. 55 plus s&h which is Rs. 850. So it will cost me only $20 or what?- bguidry17
