Short Circuit: What Happens and What Operates It
To the best of my knowledge, a short circuit occurs when there is very little or no resistance across a circuit resulting in a very large current generated. Correct me if i am inaccurate.- carlz

Who was Nicola Tesla and Why is He a Forgotten Genius?
Something that's quite disturbing though. When experimenting with AC, he tried to establish the fact that it takes much less current than DC to be fatal. In order to prove his point, he paid street boys to bring him stray dogs to test his AC experiments. All ended dead of course. He has the...- carlz

Who was Nicola Tesla and Why is He a Forgotten Genius?
Personally, I read quite abit about him and think he is a much better engineer than edison. Edison is more of a experiment and try an error type of person while Nicola Tesla was a theorist who worked his stuff out first before testing the results. If you read his biography, he has no...- carlz

Solving Feynman's Puzzle: Which Direction Does the Tube Spin?
Oh, by the way. This thread is about interesting stuff, not strictly the S-tube subject. If you guys want to discuss any interesting topics but not too academical, just post it here.- carlz

Solving Feynman's Puzzle: Which Direction Does the Tube Spin?
Since we are on this subject. I once saw this weapon which shoots out little sandbags as the projectile. The recoil of this rifle is quite a bit, but the victim being hit by the sandbag is equalvalent to a punch by mike tyson at his peak. It basically spreads out the energy of the projectile...- carlz

Solving Feynman's Puzzle: Which Direction Does the Tube Spin?
Wow, i didnt know that shotgun slugs spin too.. It though it was delibrately unstable so they could cover a larger area. Regarding the hole, punch a screwdriver directly into a can perpendicularly, then you bend the screwdriver to one side such that it is now tangent to the hole punched...- carlz

Solving Feynman's Puzzle: Which Direction Does the Tube Spin?
I found another interesting way to test it, haven't tried it myself by it sounds logical. Much simpler also. First, take an empty aluminium drink can. Punch 1 hole at the side of the can at an angle. The hole will be somewhere near in the middle. Repeat this at exactly the opposite side...- carlz

Richard Feynman, 1965 Physics Nobel Prize Winner
kudos to feynman. He's my favourite physicists of all times ! Read his book : surely you must be joking, mr feynman if you haven already. Favourite engineer : Nicola Tesla- carlz

What is the formula for calculating the radius of a loop in a jet fighter?
made a mistake. Ok, when he is straight and level flight, the scale would already read 1g or 9.81ms-2. So, when the scale reads 4g during the loop, we have to take into consideration the the 4gs is including gravity. so, 4-1=3. The centripretal force would be 3g. Sub the a for 9.81 * 3...- carlz

How Does Ice Melt When Hot Water Is Added?
There's a formula for this involving latent heat. I kinda forgot the details but there needs to be more information. How big is the very large block of ice ?? I think the temperature would be 0 degrees celsius. Anyone ?- carlz

What is the formula for calculating the radius of a loop in a jet fighter?
F = (mv^2)/r = ma cancel out m v^2/r = a you have the velocity and a = 9.81 * 4 tada, that's the radius- carlz
