Sure, dark structure is Perlite.
Carbon fraction is given in alloy specification
1018 \rightarrow 0.18% Carbon
And ... Annealing Treatment ( Total Annealing) may result in perlite + ferrite.
It's shown in your micrograph
Dark - perlite
Bright - Ferrite
Predict Mechanical properties based on hardness tests may be useful in some cases but results could be far from reality.
I suggest you check out
www.matweb.com
its a great materials properties library
I guess the better way to preditc a microstructure result from a heat treatment is looking for the TTT diagram for your alloy.
From the cooling rate you may sketch the curve and analise the initial and final points in the diagram curves for phase transformation.
An example of TTT diagram...
Hello!
i've been thinking, how can i get start modeling a heat pipe. At least a conceptual approach . it would be very helpfull ir someone here post any bibliography.
thanks!
Does anybody here knows how can i calculate (or plot) the Thrust as an airspeed function?
I guess it'd be something related with Pitch, Diameter, HP, air density...
Or... a way to calculate RPM as a pitch, diameter and power function?
thanks!
