Is there life in the universe, and if so has it visited Earth?
I would find it far more likely that they wouldn't actually come and do research on a totally unknown planet that appears to contain life. Instead they would send AI Bots on ships to observe us.. possibly even treat us like we treat animals, not recognizing us as any more intelligent than an ant...- ChadRichens

Graduate Conscious vs. Non-Conscious Observation
yeah, but does the wave function then collapse as the robot's video camera views it, or when you watch the video? and, how do we know? (i know this hardly matters, just wondering what the formula's say)- ChadRichens

Graduate Conscious vs. Non-Conscious Observation
Reality is what we make of it. If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? I used to guffaw at that question and think, "of course it does..." Now, I find myself questioning whether or not the tree actually falls until you're there to observe it...- ChadRichens

Why i don't believe in ghosts as potrayed in popular culture?
How I explain my Experience. I'm sitting in a room in broad daylight at two in the afternoon. There is one door to my right in clear visibility, and I'm sitting in a rocking chair on my laptop writing an article about String/M Theory. I "Feel a Presence" in the room with me... Look over to my...- ChadRichens

Graduate Is Time Truly a Dimension or Something Else Entirely?
For the purposes of defining events in space-time, one of the variables included into the equation is time, which causes it(time) to become a dimension by serving as a property that can be described by a real number and that defines the location of an element within an event in space-time in...- ChadRichens

Graduate Universe Expanding: Forces That Speed & Slow It Down
One view would be looking at dark matter/energy as the fuel of the universe's expansion. As if the universe itself is a rocket ship, running on this dark fuel, and gravitational forces are all pulling it back to its original point. At the moment we can't be sure if the universe will ever run out...- ChadRichens

Graduate Is Time Truly a Dimension or Something Else Entirely?
Let me start by attempting to mediate what's been said so far with a reiteration of the forum rules: The question this Topic creator intended to have answered was, "is time a 'dimension.'" My favorite definition of Dimension is as follows: For the purposes of defining events in...- ChadRichens
