Tech's "Magic Hat" Project: Detecting Emotion via EEG
I have been away on a bit of hiatus to explore the world of electrical engineering. I got mixed up with the signal processing crowd. Before I knew it, I was a research assistant in a Brain Computer Interfacing Lab. We use brainwave (EEG) signals to operate devices. This conversation may be...- ChiralWaltz

Is Increasing Inequality Acceptable If Everyone Benefits?
I have never found giving money away to be the solution to a problem. It may make us feel good in the short run but does not work in the long run. In the US, programs are available for low income households. One has to make a certain amount to be eligible for them. The problem is that once they...- ChiralWaltz

Find the Pattern in 3+6+12+20+30 +n
If someone were to utter that, I would enthusiastically test values. N=4 1+1(1+1) = 3 1+2(2+1) = 7 o_O 1+3(3+1) = 13 :( 1+4(4+1) = 21 :L Then I would be disappointed and confused as to if I was doing the problem right.- ChiralWaltz

How do you feel about cheating in school?
I do not endorse cheating. I turned in some incomplete homework today despite having access to copy the material. It would not have felt right if I did. It could get me into the habit of not finishing my work and relying copying the solutions. It is frustrating to have classmates who turn in...- ChiralWaltz

Wrist Pain from Writing Constantly
I prefer a tight grip also. You may want to look into Pencil pillows made from gel. They are comfortable if you are going to be writing for extended periods of time. I use them for my finger tips where I grip the pencil rather than my wrists. It may be worth a try.- ChiralWaltz

Blackboards vs. Whiteboards: A Scientist's Perspective
I prefer whiteboards. The colors are more vibrant and dots are easier to draw. I don't like having to uncap them but it is a small cost for what is gained.- ChiralWaltz
